When I was but a child my family had suffered setbacks. Mom
retired early due to political disturbance. The family gave up the luxurious lifestyle to
sustain the education of my elder siblings; who at the time were enrolled in exclusive schools,
and a sister about to graduate. Listening to their stories of lifestyle gone by inspired me to
dream and aspire.
I held on my dreams. The first step was to excel in school..in academics,in sports and deportment from elementary through to college, earning a degree in BS Economics. I chose to work for a higher paying job (so they say) rather than pursuing a career along the path of my course. "Its all about money", so I ended in one of the top BPO companies in the Philippines.
I was excited to receive my first paycheck and started to spend, inially a small part of my dream( lets call it dreamlet). But woe me, I have no money left to go to work for next five days. I tried to do better with the subsequent paychecks. I set aside a portion so not to be short of cash. I did overtime even waived vacations to get a higher paycheck..still not enough. My expenses equated with my income..to top it all, I became sickly..this made me thinking...where is the good life..not enough time for leisure..not enough money to get what I want.
I was looking for opportunities..wondering what are the possibilities of achieving my dream.
The first possibility...get employed to an 8 to 5 work which is also so routinary and time pressured..how long will I have to be employed before I achieve my dream...10..20 years?
While having coffee after work, I decided to answer the call of a friend...SANTE. This is the second possibility..and now the rest is history.
Now I earn a residual income, live in a three bedroom place in
the middle of a business
center, traveled in the Philippines, Southeast Asia and Europe
and enjoyed the luxury hotels, beach resorts and cuisine...and a cruise ship
travel..a first time experience. The best part in all these, I have my husband to share the
experiences and joy of life at an early stage of our marriage.
Indeed, life is good, a gift and a blessing .... let me share it with you
